Ask any resident what convinced her to stay and food comes up first. Our kitchen is in-house, run by cooks who have worked with us for years, and the menu is planned weekly rather than improvised daily. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are prepared fresh every day — nothing is reheated from the previous evening.
Mornings begin with South Indian staples: idli with sambar and two chutneys, dosa, pongal, upma, poori with masala on weekends, all served hot with filter coffee and tea. Lunch is a full rice meal with sambar, rasam, a poriyal, kootu, curd and pickle. Dinners rotate between chapati with North Indian gravies such as dal tadka, channa masala and paneer curry, and lighter South Indian tiffin. Sunday brings a special — variety rice, vegetable biryani or a payasam that disappears fast.
We serve a purely vegetarian, nutritious menu designed for women who work long hours: adequate protein through dal, sprouts, curd and paneer, seasonal vegetables rather than the same three all year, and controlled oil and spice so daily eating stays healthy. Fresh fruit is served twice a week.
Hygiene is non-negotiable. The kitchen is cleaned after every service, groceries are sourced from fixed trusted vendors, water used in cooking is RO purified, storage is sealed and pest control runs on a fixed schedule. Residents are welcome to inspect the kitchen at any time — several parents do exactly that before their daughters join, and we encourage it.
Shift workers are never left out. Nurses returning at midnight and IT employees on late releases have their meals kept aside and warmed. If you are unwell, the kitchen will make simple khichdi or rasam rice on request. Residents also give menu feedback each month, and dishes that consistently get poor reviews are replaced.
